End of the SUSADICA project

Since 2018, SUSADICA has established a collaborative research environment for doctoral researchers that is based at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers – National Research University (TIIAME-NRU) in Uzbekistan, maintained jointly with Justus Liebig University Gießen, Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.

SUSADICA has recruited a set of international doctoral researchers focusing on research topics that build a bridge between the international academic discourse and agricultural development challenges relevant for Central Asia. SUSADICA offers a systematic education of the doctorate students that enables them to conduct independent research and integrates them into a network of international partners and events. Research and education are structured along a matrix defined by the three dimensions of economic, social, and ecological sustainability.

Its research areas include farm restructuring and labour relations, agricultural innovations and technology, agricultural policy, environmental resources and water governance. The final symposium takes stock of the research outcomes so far. Experts and interested parties from academia and the policy and donor community are welcome to attend.
