On April 27-29, 2023, our university will launch the international project "Germany-Uzbekistan" on the topic "Sustainable water-saving irrigation technologies to achieve water, energy and food security in Uzbekistan in the period of climate change" . A preliminary meeting was held, the project was ordered by BMBF (Germany) and the Agency for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the project manager is prof. M. K. Khamidov.

The project partners are the German Center for Agricultural Landscape Research. Leibniz , National Research University "TIIAME", International Water Management Institute, Smart InnoTech LLC. The main goal of the project is to assess the impact of irrigated lands on melioration and productivity, as well as saving water and energy resources, providing the population with food products, raw materials for industry. On April 27, 2023 the work packages of the project, the research program and the scope of work to be performed by each partner organization were approved and discussed. There was orgaized the field trip for getting acquainted with the apple orchard of Eco Agro Product farm and the cotton field of Nadir Rufat farm in Uroch-Chirchik district of Tashkent region, where drip irrigation technology was introduced, there were held discussions of the program, scientific research was also carried out on the experimental plots of the project.
