Dr. Martin Welp from Germany visits our university as part of VEGERA international grant
It is known that the international project "The improvement of energy efficiency in the building sector through the use of renewable raw materials from agroforestry systems" in cooperation with the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development started its activity on 01.08.2021.
The total value of this grant (2021-2024) is 620,000 EUR and the main organization is the German Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), (ICRAF - International Center for Research in Agroforestry), and "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University are cooperating. Also, the Technical University of Berlin, the German Institute of Architecture - Natural Building Laboratory, Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR-), and a number of international organizations, such as the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), are actively participating in the project with their best practices. As a reference, the coordinator of the VEGERA project in Uzbekistan is the rector of our university, professor B.S. Mirzayev, the tasks within the project are being effectively carried out step by step with the team.
Professor Martin Welp, an experienced specialist with many years of experience in social and environmental changes in Central Asia, an expert on international grants and projects, the coordinator of the VEGERA international grant, Head of the International Master's Program (Global Change Management), "Socio-Economics and Communications" Department from Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, (HNEE) visited our "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University.
The official meeting was held in the Turon Bank room of the Faculty of "Organization and Management of Water Resources" at our university. The Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Salokhiddinov Abdulkhakim, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Khudayarov Bakhtiyar, "Hydrotechnical Construction" Faculty Prof. Khasanov Bakhriddin, associate professor of the "English Language" department Gozal Eshchanova, associate professor of the Faculty of "Hydrotechnical Construction" Farida Yunusova, associate professors of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction Siddikov Ikrom, Khasanov Azamat and Bonu Azizova, head of the International Relations Department Sherzod Rakhmanov participated at the meetig.
The goal of this meeting was to build a two-story Demo house laboratory by German architects at our university, and our foreign partner was shown the areas suitable for the land allocated for construction by the university. In addition, small excursions to the existing laboratories of our university were organized for our partners.
Also, during the event, the initial projects of the laboratory were presented by the team, and our partner was completely satisfied. Specialists from the Technical University of Berlin were also involved in the construction of the laboratory. The purpose of establishing this laboratory is to organize new educational directions, and develop innovative educational programs, using the international experience of German Higher Education Institutions in the faculty of "Hydrotechnical Construction".
During the meeting, the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development and "TIIAME" National Research University held close negotiations on the further development of cooperation in educational and scientific research, and implementation of activities within the framework of the project.
We hope that this international project will promote the exchange of experience with German scientists on the subject of a grant at the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University, and contributes to providing quality education to professors and teachers, as well as the younger generation.
