Awards to the most exemplary selfless women of the water sector
On October 15, 2022, the Ministry of Water Resources held an event in connection with the International Day of Rural Women. As you know, on December 18, 2007, by a resolution of the UN General Assembly, October 15 was officially declared the International Day of Rural Women. This date is widely celebrated today in many countries of the world. At present, about 8.6 million women live in rural areas in our country. Many of them selflessly work in the field of agriculture and water management, entrepreneurship, crafts, and the effective use of household plots.
In particular, women working in the ministry and its subsystems make a worthy contribution to providing water to 4.3 million hectares of irrigated land in our republic, keeping records and saving water, introducing modern water-saving technologies into the industry, and introducing remote control of water facilities. Minister of Water Resources Sh. Khamraev noted that as a result of the increase in the prestige of Water workers in our society, women's interest in working in the water management system is growing, in recent years the proportion of women in the industry has been increasing, while in each organization of the system women are provided with maximum benefits, they receive financial and moral support. In order to identify "the most exemplary selfless female worker in the water sector", a competition was held jointly with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Family and Women's Affairs. The competition was attended by women from all water management organizations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions.
At the event, awards were presented to the winners of the competition. Head of the Women's Council of the "TIIAME" National Research University, Professor Ismailova Z.K., Head of the Department of the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs A. Makhmudova, Technical Hydraulic Engineer of the Department of Irrigation of the Kegeyli District of the Republic of Karakalpakstan K. Allabergenova, Head of the Kurgantepa District Section of the Ameliorative Expedition at the Basin Department of Irrigation Systems Norin-Koradare N. Mirzarakhimova and others expressed their positive opinion on the conditions created for women working in the field of water management. In connection with the International Day of Rural Women, such events are held in all systemic water management organizations.
