According to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan about the approval of the National Program for the Development and Support of a Culture of Reading for 2020-2025 sets wide tasks for all of us in terms of encouraging reading within young people. Additionally, the fourth of the five important initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the promotion of reading among young people. The purpose of the organized event “A week of  Reading” competition  is to motivate and younger generation for reading, restore the rich spiritual heritage of our people, study the life and work of our great scientists, who have made a worthy contribution to the world civilization, analyze the results achieved in translating the best works of Uzbek literature into foreign languages​​,  promoting a culture of reading, family reading traditions, contributing to the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of love and devotion to national literature and the Motherland.

        On April 18-23, 2022 by the Agency for the Information and Mass Communications around Uzbekistan there was organized the II Republican "Week of Reading" under the motto "The nation that adores books". The opening ceremony of the week was held on April 18, 2022 at the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi. As a part of “Week of Reading”, Magic City Park organized cultural and educational events, presentations, book fairs, reader surveys, prize quizzes and intellectual competitions. Presentations of new books published in recent years by about 40 publishing houses, meetings with dozens of famous, young and talented writers and poets, dialogues with publishers and printers were held in the capital.
