"World Water Day" is held annually on 22 March. This day emphasizes the importance of fresh water. It has become a tradition at the "TIIAME" National Research University to celebrate World Water Day every year. Therefore, today, on March 18, 2022, an event dedicated to this problem was held at the university. The leadership of the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministries of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, representatives of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on agrarian and water management issues, the center of the hydrometeorological service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the staff, university students, Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan, representatives of the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the mass media representatives attended the event. The rector of the university, Professor Mirzaev Bakhodir Suyunovich opened the event with an introductory speech, further Isomiddin Akromov acted as the moderator of the event.

Deputy Minister of Water Resources Mirzaev Akmal Arzievich, Advisor, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Embassy of Sweden in Uzbekistan Ms. Rachel Boesh, Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ravshan Begmatov, Coordinator of the national project on water management Birodar Burkhonjonov delivered presentations at the event.

Every year World Water Day is celebrated under a specific slogan. The university holds competitions, events, scientific and practical seminars for students, doctoral students, and researchers. On March 11-15, 2022, competition events were held among students of higher educational institutions of the republic of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan on water management and sustainable development of the country. These competitions were sponsored by the United Nations Development Program and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. 1st place winners were awarded laptops and tablets, 2nd place winners got tablets and smartphones, 3rd place winners got power bank and hard drives. We are glad that Shamsiddinov Khushnudbek, a student of the "TIIAME" National Research University is on the list of winners.
