On February 15, 2022 at Professional Development Centre (British Council & “TIIAME”NRU) there was organized the ceremony of awarding the winners of ”English Speaking Competition”, where the 1-course students of “Organization and Management of Water Resources” participated. The ceremony was opened   by the dean of “Organization and Management of Water Resources” faculty prof. Khakimov Rashid and head of “English Language” department Fayzullo Begov. In their speech, these leaders mentioned  about the active participation of students at the competition and recommended to develop English language skills, which can lead to the prospective future. It is known that the competition was held on February 11, 2022 at Professional Development Centre (British Council & “TIIAME”NRU).

     It is important to suggest that the competition was conducted by a group of experienced teachers of “English language” department with the qualification gained within the years of teaching in higher education, such senior teachers as Maksuda Azizova, Marguba Khudaybergenova, Guzal Eshchanova, Bakhtigul Isakulova, Ulugbek Nullaev, Luiza Babakulova and Sarvinoz Ergasheva. 

    The main aim of organizing particular type of event was to pay a particular attention to the development of  integrated skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing) step by step by implementing the internationally-recognized assessment approaches and creating good conditions for improving languages.

    The  organized ”English Speaking Competition” included two-stages:

1. Picture Description.
2. IELTS Speaking cards.

       The completion candidates demonstrated their creative skills in describing different pictures and tried to answer the IELTS speaking part questions. 

As winners of the competition from “Organization and Management of Water Resources” faculty were announced:

1. Mirodilov Mirsaid – I- Place
2. Khidirov Khojiakbar- II- Place
3. Makhammadaliyeva Imona- III- Place

4. Idiev Azizbek-“ The fluent speaker” nomination
5. Kalandarova Makhmuda- “ The best pronunciation owner” nomination

  All winners were awarded with certificates for successful participation by the rector of “TIIAME” National Research University and they were presented with some gifts. Besides that these winners received the opportunity to take part in Cambridge/ IELTS  (Pre-Test) for free, which is planned to organize in Computer-delivered form at our university with the support of British Council in spring.

The owner of the first place- Mirodilov Mirsaid received the coupon (49.95 £) Official IELTS preparation “IELTS Progress Check”.

   Additionally,winners Mirodilov Mirsaid, Khidirov Khojiakbar and Makhammadaliyeva Imona were involved to the international project EMI “English as a Medium of Instruction”  by British Council, where they can exchange ideas and gain experience from students of other Higher Educational Institutions.   We hope that identifying the list of capable students from faculties and providing them the opportunity to participate in projects with different countries can support our learners in widening their horizons and acquiring international experience.
