On March 20, 2024 in front of the monument to the poet, a literary, artistic, spiritual and educational event was organized in memory of the hero of Uzbekistan, people's poet Abdulla Oripov. The event was attended by a group of intellectuals, members of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, students and teachers of university. The event was held in cooperation of the Republican Spiritual and Educational Center "Alley of Writers", "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University and the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. First, wreaths were laid at the foot of the statue of our hero-poet, bows were made before the majestic figure. The opening speech was made by university rector Professor Bakhadir Suyunovich Mirzaev. The rector spoke about the processes associated with perpetuating the work of Abdulla Oripov at university level and also spoke about creative young people, who are true lovers of literature and art.  

Then Sirojiddin Said, Chairman of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, shared his memories of his mentor, the great poet Abdulla Oripov. The poet's fortitude, his ability to overcome all types of challenges, courage and bravery were discussed. Then it was the turn of Isajon Sultan, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and People's Writer of Uzbekistan. He talked about how he was lucky enough to be noticed by Abdulla Oripov when he was 16 years old. Then  there was read a letter from Minister Sharipov Kongratbay Avezimbetovich addressed to the participants of the event. Shoyrakhan Oripova shared memories of her father, a man who, being a doctor by profession, put his love for literature and art. At the end of his life, Abdullah read one of his poems addressed to young people. Khursandbek Rozmetov, the head of the creative youth circle of our university, Dilbar Egamova and Rano Kadirova, one of the teachers, performed poems from literary works. In particular, everyone equally appreciated the performance of the young poet Javakhir Khalilov, a university student. The event was very informativa and impressive.
