It is important to mention that our university is a participating organization in the international project "The improvement of energy efficiency in the building sector through the use of renewable raw materials from agroforestry systems", funded by the International Climate Initiative. The International partners of the project are the followings: Technical University of Berlin, Natural Laboratory Building, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), ICRAF-CIFOR (World Agroforestry Center), its branches in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan and India, International Advisory Group for Agricultural Research, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers". Project cost is 620,000 euros, the duration of which is 2021-2024. The project coordinator from the university is the rector, Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Due to the programme, our partners visited “Etikod” Furniture Enterprise and observed wooden houses built on the outskirts of the city, energy-efficient approaches in construction and improve quality efficiency methods in building houses that meet the requirements of local people. A particular attention was paid to conduct project-related research in terms of combination of traditional and modern methods used in the construction of houses.
Their was organized a visit to Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. By partners there were shared presentations on a number of activities carried out at our university and there were discussed in detail the tasks for near future. Taking into account the global climate change, there were discussed the ways of conducting experiments on wood, filling the surveys within the framework of research. Every month, within VEGERA project, funded by the German government, zoom meetings and discussions are being held in cooperation with project members.
