Virtual webinar by leading scientists of the world
On December 15, the US Embassy in Tashkent hosted a virtual webinar on remote sensing in agriculture and water management.
Professors Prasad Thenkabail and Liana Mladenova delivered lectures on the use of remote sensing technology. Prof. P. Tenkabail, Western Geographic Research Center of the U.S. Geological Survey, measured the efficiency of water supplied to crops using a multi-sensor probe distance to save water in irrigated and rainfed areas around the world (“crop per drop” modeling, mapping, and monitoring.
Associate Professor in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), International Production Assessment Department (IPAD) Liana Mladenova spoke about plant indices (NDVI) and their relationship to the characteristics of agricultural crops.
The virtual webinar was very lively and full of discussions, as it was dedicated to a topical issue.
