The Uzbek delegation took part in a seminar training within the framework of a German international grant

    On August 1, 2021, the international project "The improvement of energy efficiency in the building sector through the use of renewable raw materials from agroforestry systems" began its activities at our university in cooperation with the University of Sustainable Development Eberswalde, Germany. Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development has been recognized as the leading educational institution in the competition announced by the German International Climate Initiative (IKI) in the area of "Energy Efficiency in Buildings".

    The main organizations under this grant (2021-2024), with a total value of 620,000 euros, are the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF - lnternational Center for Research in Agroforestry) and the "TIIAME" National Research University. A number of international organizations, such as the Technical University of Berlin, the German Institute of Architecture - Natural Building Laboratory, the International Advisory Group for Agricultural Research (CGIAR-), and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are actively involved in the project with their best practices. The coordinator of the VEGERA project in Uzbekistan is the rector of our university, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mirzayeva Bakhodir Suyunovich. Tasks within the project are effectively implemented by the team in stages. On February 13-21, 2023, within the framework of the VEGERA project, a group of seven people, consisting of representatives of the "TIIAME" National Research University, the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the head of the furniture enterprise "Eitikod", visited higher educational institutions and manufacturing enterprises in Germany.

     The coordinator of VEGERA international grants, an expert on international grants and projects, a leading specialist in social and environmental change in Central Asia, and head of the international master's program (Global Change Management) Professor Martin Velp attended the training seminar. During the project, reports of our rector and representatives of the public were heard, and interesting discussions were organized.

     The purpose of this meeting was the construction by German architects of a two-story demonstration house-laboratory at our university, and suitable sites for construction were also discussed. In addition, excursions to the operating laboratories of our university were organized for our partners.

       The management presented the initial projects of the laboratory which was satisfactory for our partner. Specialists from the Technical University of Berlin were also involved in the construction of the laboratory.

      During the meeting between the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and the "TIIAME" National Research University, close negotiations were held on the further development of cooperation in educational and scientific research, and the implementation of activities within the framework of the project.
