It iis known to everyone that the Syr Darya, has many tributaries, one of them is Chirchik. Chirchik receives water from the Chotkal and Pskom rivers. And Pskom takes its water from the Pakhtakor glacier in one of the most beautiful corners of the Western Tien Shan. That’s why  Pakhtakor glacier is one of the main sources of water in Uzbekistan. But due to global warming, this ice area is shrinking year by year. Melting glaciers and greater demand for water from transboundary rivers than before make the issue of water even more pressing for us. It is often suggested that without it, we waste a lot of water and aving measures  and smart approaches will be a great solution to our problems. In our current conditions nowadays we have no choice but to save water. How and where is the most water lost in Uzbekistan? People of Uzbekistan should use drinking water effectively, being careful to even drop.

For the prevention of these activities, on May 2023, the Ministry of Water Resources,  “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research University and Agrobank created a “Watermen School”.At the first stage, over five months (May-October), more than 61 thousand managers and workers of farms from 155 regions of our republic were trained in short-term courses, with the involvement of specialists that developed educational programs. More than 50 scientists, 20 specialists from Turkey, Spain and China were involved in these educational processes.At the second stage, theoretical and practical knowledge were provided.For this purpose, Agrobank has created modern classes and experimental sites in 13 regions of our Republic, where advanced water-saving technologies are being used. The second stage of training courses will cover 60 thousand farms in 2024-2030. The training will be aimed at developing practical skills for 10,000 farmers annually .
