The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed documents on effective mechanisms for the introduction of more than 10 water-saving technologies to reduce water shortages not only in Uzbekistan but also in Central Asia.

In particular, in Resolution PP-144 “On measures to further improve the introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture” dated March 1, 2021, the Ministry of Water Resources and other sectors of the economy set a milestone and a transparent system for achieving it.

"TIIAME" National Research University as a basic university for training personnel for the water sector pays special attention to the integration of science, education, and production. In this direction, comprehensive cooperation has been established not only with our local but also with reputable international manufacturers of water-saving irrigation technologies.

On May 24, 2021, in accordance with the cooperation agreement concluded between  “TIIAME” NRU and the American company Lindsay, a field training seminar was organized at the research and development center of the research university on the topic “Improving the system of modern water-saving technologies in growing cotton in Uzbekistan”. The seminar was organized in the form of theory and practice, during the seminar was introduced the ZIMMATIC sprinkler machine from Lindsay.

Scientists from the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cluster and Farming, universities, and research institutes took an active part in the seminar.

At the same time, the university has effectively expanded the organization of student internships and modern research facilities for researchers. Today, there are ample opportunities for research into the cultivation of cotton, corn, and wheat through irrigation.
