According to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan N. PD-42 dated December 10, 2021, “Information-Resource Centre” of “TIIAME” National Research University with 400 users was completely renovated and transformed into a Modern Digital Library. On October 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. there was organized Opening Ceremony of Modern “Information-Resource Centre” at “TIIAME” National research University. Among the invited honored guests there were the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Academician Ibrahim Yulchievich Abdurakhmanov, the rectors and representatives of different Higher Educational Institutions, professor-teachers and students.

The opening speech was made by the rector of university, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Mirzaev Bakhadir Suyunovich. In his speech, the rector expressed his gratitude to visitors, that the age of “Information-Resource Center” is almost equal to the age of university, and that next year there is a plan to celebrate the 90th anniversary of our university. Besides that, our rector listed the names of library employees, who made a great contribution to the prosperity of the library.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician Abdurakhmonov Ibragim Yulchievich congratulated the university rector for modernizing the “Information-Resource Centre”, which is equipped with modern innovative technologies, created conditions and opportunities for all library users. The Minister in his speech also mentioned about that there are many “Information-Resource Centres” at Higher Educational Institutions of Uzbekistan, but “Information-Resource Centre” of “TIIAME” National Research University differs from other university centres. He even added that the given Centre offers a wide range of opportunities that others should learn and implement. He mentioned  that library should be a place, where readers learn a lot. The representative of National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi Teshaboeva Umida Alimdzhanova also made a speech during the event. She admitted the advantages of the library, which have more opportunities than National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.All participants were interested to learn the opportunities of the Digital Library. There were provided brief information about the functions of the library to the visitors.  

Currently, the fond of “Information-Resource Center” contains a large number of resources in different languages and on different disciplines. At the moment, the literature available in the collection of “Information-Resource Center” has been completely digitized, and a universal automated information system IRBIS 64+ has been created. In order to ensure fast and high-quality service to users, turnstiles have been introduced to control the entry and exit of users using an ID card and Face ID. Also, more than 200 modern computers and tablets (Core i7) and special additional tools were provided to serve students with disabilities, integrated with the database of the National Library of Uzbekistan and with the databases of several foreign university libraries. Due to that, professor-teachers and students are given the opportunity to use the literature available there. It is important to suggest that the access and use of the “Information- Resource Center”, which is equipped with modern technologies is electroniczed as well.
