It is important to suggest that water is the most important element of life, the essence of our existence. In the era of globalization, we are facing  challenges related to water. Millions of people around the world lack clean drinking water, but most of us take this for granted. Global warming, shrinking glaciers, pollution and many other factors are causing a shortage of water and its supplies. The situation itself has radically changed our attitude towards water at present time. Saving water resources requires us to use them wisely and has become one of the most important issues of sustainable economic development of regions and countries. Along with the growing demand for water resources, water shortages are also increasing every year.

 On March 15, 2024 at “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research University  there was held the event under the slogan “Water for Peace” was organized at the university, dedicated to “World Water Day” on March 22.  The event was attended by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other international organizations. The main purpose of celebrating is to encourage humanity to use water efficiently and conserve it, and to deliver water resources to future generations in good condition.
