An important indicator for health!
Currently, our university is conducting research work on five grants from the UniCEN program, which maintains links between universities in the United States and Central Asia. At the "Tractors and Automobiles" Department, together with Washington University in St. Louis is being implemented the project program "Air Quality Knowledge Center of Central Asian Universities"
As part of this project, Jay Turner, professor at Washington University in St. Louis, delivered a presentation in Room B-302 on "Fine Particulate Air Pollution: Impact on Health and Conditions in Central Asia." The presentation included data obtained on air quality according to a model developed at the University of Washington and based on the results of some ground-based measurements. Particular attention was paid to the sources of fine particle air pollution and information related to the impact of pollution on health.
The staff and students of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization attended the seminar. At the end of the workshop, Professor Jay Turner presented to the university two instruments that are used to measure air quality. Students received answers to their questions, and teachers wished the project success in implementing plans for the future.
