In the framework of a Plasma Agriculture project, Dr. Jamoliddin Razzokov and his PhD student, Akbar Kodirov, recently arranged a research visit to IPB University in Jakarta, Indonesia

Ranked 489 in the QS World University Rankings (Agriculture & Forestry #51), IPB University mentions Professor Aris Purwanto, a collaborator who has developed a plasma device for applications in agriculture, wastewater treatment, and bacteria/virus decontamination. Plasma is a 4th state of matter. It is a cocktail of reactive species, ions, electrons and neutral molecules.  Plasma induce oxidative stress by interacting with biomatter. There's no thermal effect of cold atmospheric plasma which makes compatible to apply it in biosciences

Last year, a delegation from IPB University visited TIIAME, where Prof. Purwanto and Dr. Jamoliddin discussed establishing long-term collaboration. Dr. Jamoliddin shared, "On the first day of our visit, we were warmly welcomed by Prof. Purwanto and discussed our planned experiments in detail in his lab. He also showcased plasma devices developed for various purposes. Later, we met with the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Prof. Budijanto, and the head of the Department of Mechanical and Biosystem Engineering, Dr. Hartulistiyoso. We shared our research topics, discussed possible collaborations, and had fruitful discussions."

"The next day, I had the opportunity to meet with PhD, master's, and bachelor's students working with Prof. Purwanto. They presented their projects, which I found very attractive. I also presented my project and exchanged ideas with them. In the afternoon, we visited pilot projects in the field and witnessed their installations. We have a lot to do together. Water issues are becoming critical in Uzbekistan, and I hope we can use plasma devices to clean wastewater for recycling. This collaboration holds great promise for both sides in the future."
