From January 30 to February 3, 2023, was organized a training course on practical econometric analysis in cooperation with the International Scientific Center for Agricultural Development (ISCAD) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), the International Water Research Institute (IWMI) and Westminster International University (TWIU) in Tashkent.

In order to participate in this training, many applicants from all organizations throughout the Republic submitted applications, and worthy candidates were selected. Among these candidates, 08.00.04 - 3 basic doctoral students of our University in the specialty of Agricultural Economics: Tosheva Maftuna Rustamovna, Yestekov Aktilek Uralkhanovich, Shakhnoza Hamroeva and 05.09.07 - 1 basic doctoral student in the specialty of Hydraulics and Engineering Hydrology Davronjon Allayarovs were selected.

The purpose of the training course is to further strengthen the existing potential of young scientists, economists/researchers in Uzbekistan for quantitative research, analysis of economic and political processes, in particular, econometric analysis of socio-economic phenomena in the context of the development of the agri-food sector. Currently, the university is strengthening the capacity of researchers to conduct reliable and transparent policy research and impact assessment in the agri-food sector and all related areas. The training uses advanced statistical packages such as STATA and R and combines practical and empirical analysis. The working languages of the training course are English and Uzbek.
