Associate Professor of “TIIAME” NRU completed a monthly course at the   University of Warwick, ranked as one of the UK's top 10 universities, according to the QS World University Rankings 2024

    It is important to suggest that Guzal Eshchanova, Associate Professor of “English language” Department has successfully completed a monthly course PDELT "Professional Development for English Language Teachers", organized at the University of Warwick, UK.

     It is known that the University of Warwick in the UK occupies the prestigious 67th place among the top 1000 Higher Educational Institutions in the world (among 1500 HEIs located in 104 countries). According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, the University of Warwick was ranked 10th out of 91 best universities in the UK and was ranked as one of the top 20 universities in Europe.

   According to the latest Times Higher Education impact Rankings, the University of Warwick is ranked 9th in the world in terms of sustainability in consumption and production. Out of 674 universities worldwide, the University of Warwick is ranked among the top 12 universities for consumption and production, which aims to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and pollution. It should be noted that some of the results of the University of Warwick towards achieving its goals include:

   In 2021, 100 percent of the energy purchased by the university was received from sustainable sources.

   In the 2021/22 academic year, 100% of the university's thermal energy was produced on campus.

  The university has achieved a 52% reduction in carbon emissions compared to revenues between 2005/2006 and 2020/2021.

  In 2021/22 academic year, the university managed to generate 50% of electricity.

   In  2014, 100% of new buildings on large campuses were equipped with solar panels to support solar energy production.

   In 2021/22 there were planted 1,200 new tree species at the university.

    The University of Warwick has about 30 faculties, more than 50 research centers. The university trains specialists in social, scientific, technical, medical and other spheres. The University of Warwick has over 9,500 students from 150 different nationalities, with a total student amount of 22,500. This is the reason of why graduates of the university are ranked 6th in the ranking of the highest earning universities in the world.

      

    

 

     It is important to suggest that PDELT course, organized at the University of Warwick, “Social Sciences” Faculty, “Applied Linguistics” Department  was held from  July 10 to August 4, 2023, which included a total of 144 hours. The course was aimed at improving the methodological qualifications of English Language Teachers and consisted of two parts:

   1. ELT “English Language Teaching”

   2.EAP “English for Academic Purposes” and ESAP “English for Specific Academic Purposes”

     Highly-experienced professors that conducted lectures and seminars during PDELT course used innovative pedagogical technologies. Course participants will be able to use the University of Warwick e-library for a certain period of time, use educational materials, designed for teaching and learning, particularly, on the PDELT international course platform, E-resources, international resources, scientific articles, periodicals, presentations prepared by scientists. At the end of the course participants will be awarded with the international certificate, including 144 hours.

     We hope that by strengthening the international cooperation with such prestigious universities, in terms of exchanging bilateral experience, will be beneficial for using the advanced methodologies in Higher Education not only for our graduates, but also for teachers, aimed at achieving high peaks in their career.
